With the summer tourist season fast approaching, Barcelona city council launched a major police operation to “eradicate” the illegal street vending known as ’top manta’. The ’manteros’, as the sellers are known, responded with protests, arguing that it is the only way for them to earn a living. French footballer Antoine Griezmann was Barcelona’s big summer signing at €120 million, making him one of the top-five most expensive footballers of all time.
