From Casas to Adele to Shakespeare
It is now tradition at the start of the year for Catalonia Today to offer a round-up of the upcoming arts and entertainment programme. The calendar is promising and we provide a taste of the most relevant cultural activities for 2016. In art, the schedule of exhibitions is packed, from those commemorating the 150th anniversary of Ramon Casas's birth to diverse offerings from Mnac, Fundació Tàpies and Museu Picasso. In music, the concert scene promises an explosion of sounds, from Adele, “music's present and future” according to Time magazine, to The Cure and Radiohead. We also preview TV series, including the sixth season of Game of Thrones, shot in Girona and out in April. Cinema, meanwhile, features such renowned names as Lacuesta, Serra and Portabella, all of whom have films out this year. Finally, don't miss the chance to join us and our English Culture Club in celebrating a key event of the year: the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death.
