Like a circle in a spiral, a wheel within a wheel
Whenever I think of January and the New Year words come immediatelyinto my head:
'It's a new world - It's a new start..
It's a new day - I'ts a new plan...
Now there is nothing standing in our way...
and suddenly the world is all brand new.'
Never mind that these are the words of a song that I've taught my students many times. They've always stayed with me, and lift my heart. To me, life is a cycle, a cycle of birth, toddler-hood, adolescence, maturity, old age...but always of re-novation, re-newing just as Nature itself lives the same cycle. It's a cycle, the old gives way to the new. Each part of the cycle is an adventure.
Outwardly, in daily living, everything changes. We go up and we go down, we go 'normal'. But inwardly, spiritually, we remain the same, unchanging. We try to live in the present moment [the only moment that is living] and in our daily life 'do unto others as we would that they should do unto us'. Or as Jesus so wisely and succinctly said ' live in the world, but not of the world'. You, reader, don't have to accept any of this. These are only random thoughts - Happy New Year!
