Christmas is coming

The year that is now coming to an end saw the most successful TV series of the moment invading different places in Catalonia. Game of Thrones spent several weeks filming in Girona and Canet de Mar, shooting scenes for the next season. However, at this time of the year, we need to swap the famous adage from the series, “Winter is coming” to the more appropriate “Christmas is coming”. It's already easy to see the Christmas spirit all around; just take a walk down the main street of any town or city, anywhere around the country. As you can see in this photo from last year, the Christmas season transforms La Rambla in Barcelona, with Christmas lights and small stands selling decorations and gifts. If you are planning to spend your holidays in Catalonia, don't forget your tió, the magical Christmas log that will poop you gifts and candies on Christmas Day. You can't say Christmas isn't special in Catalonia!
