Alive and kicking

They say that the mobile, digital, multimedia era we're living in has killed the book, the magazine and reading habits among youngsters. Millennials don't read. They surf the web, they tap the screens of their phones, they play online videogames, but not reading.

Enter Barcelona's Saló del Comic, 36,000 square metres of exhibition space and 113,000 visitors in three days. What were the crowds looking for? Comic books and magazines.

More than 80% of visitors to the Comic fair were young people that, surprise, read. Lots of young people that buy, collect and exchange comic books, magazines and merchandising.

A few days later, a new Sant Jordi festival in Catalonia resulted in thousands of books sold in one day, breaking records.

We may be living in the digital age, but the good old habit of reading is alive and kicking, even among our youth.
