Wine route through Corpinnat

In the morning:

Recaredo (Sant Sadurní d’Anoia)

The family vineyards of Recaredo are located in Corpinnat, a territory that meanders between forests, hills and streams, all displaying places of great beauty, sheltered by the imposing mountain of Montserrat.

As winegrowers, Recaredo specialise in Brut Nature-style and long-aged sparkling Corpinnat, establishing a tacit pact with the territory and its origins. An accomplished and honest alliance capable of expressing the singularities of a landscape through wine.

The xarello variety represents 60% of the vineyard plantings in Recaredo. A white grape that finds its natural habitat in the Penedès region, it provides a fresh and lively acidity, and gives great structure to long-aged sparkling wines.

Since 2014, all of the vineyards have been planted exclusively with historic varieties from the Penedès, such as xarello, macabeu, parellada, garnacha negra and monastrell, all working with the plants following the principles of biodynamics.

To respect the natural environment as much as possible and guarantee the excellent quality of the grapes, Recaredo have always harvested by hand, with low productions and high-quality grapes. Its vineyards are characterised by calcareous soils and its climate is typically Mediterranean, with mild winters and dry, hot summers.

The bottles of Recaredo remain in the darkness of the cellars for a minimum of 30 months until they obtain an exceptionally unique personality. In the case of the most exclusive Recaredo family wines, some are aged for nearly 30 years, while preserving the delicacy of time and an elegant complexity of nuances.

For lunch:
El Centre (El Pla del Penedès)

Located in a traditional square with a great social and political history, the restaurant is very close to the local wineries. El Centre’s cuisine is honest and very well prepared. Following a healthy philosophy and using top quality products, it is great value for money. We highly recommend the patates braves, grilled squid, marinated anchovies, chicken wrap with curry mayonnaise, pig’s feet, escalivada... and the homemade cheese cake. Its wine list is a faithful reflection of the local area, with few but well chosen references, served at the right temperature and in the right glass.
