Mas Vida (Cistella, Girona)

Mas Vida is a small-scale family project that aims to restore the landscape around the small rectory of Mare de Déu de Vida and the Mas Vida farmhouse, in the village of Cistella in the region of Alt Empordà.

The firm cares for its vineyards, olive groves and woodland in a sustainable way, using organic farming techniques. Their agricultural activities are designed to respect the environment, which they only consciously modify if it is to leave it better than they found it. The philosophy developed at Mas Vida through observation and experience is that the land gives back to us what we put into it.

At Mas Vida they make their organic wines and oils without using synthetic products or herbicides, and their stated goal is to create a living organic soil through regenerative agriculture.

All the wine is made from grapes grown on their own vineyards. Each full bottle weighs less than a kilo and the packaging is sourced from local suppliers within a 300 kilometre range. The same goes for the oil, which is made only from olives produced in their own olive groves.

The Vida white is fresh and vital; the Vida rosé is delicate but brave; the Vida red is fruity and fresh.
