Sons del Món
Fifteen years of the world’s best music
Andrés Calamaro and the Gipsy Kings, a duet between Oques Grasses and Pol Batlle & Rita Payés, Els Catarres and Suu, Ben Harper’s rock-folk & The Innocent Criminals and the seventies disco music of Earth Wind & Fire Experience and Al McKay, are some of the biggest names at the Sons del Món festival in Roses, which this year celebrates its 15th anniversary. Set in the magical environment of the Citadel of Roses, it offers a powerful line-up that combines rock classics and international folk with the Catalan bands of the moment.
The multi-award winning Argentine artist Andrés Calamaro will open the festival on July 22, presenting songs from his last album, Dios los cria, as well as reprising some of his biggest hits. The next day, Californian singer and guitarist Ben Harper will bring his rock-folk to Roses accompanied by the superband The Innocent Criminals. André Reyes from Gipsy Kings keeps the flame of this legendary band alive with a performance at the festival on July 24. For Queen lovers, the unmissable date is July 29, when tribute band God Save the Queen recreate the hits of the legendary outfit led by Freddie Mercury, while disco fans can look forward to Earth Wind & Fire on August 5.
