False rumors about Roma people kidnapping girls in Paris appear to have sparked a series of attacks against Roma people in the cities of Clichy-sous-Bois and Bobigny on the outskirts of the French capital. About 20 people were arrested in relation to the attacks and Paris police reported that the attackers, who were armed with sticks and knives, were arrested on Tuesday evening.
