Cyclone Idai’s rampage leaves a thousand dead

The num­ber of peo­ple killed by Cy­clone Idai in south­east Africa, could reach one thou­sand, said Fil­ipe Nyusi, Pres­i­dent of Mozam­bique yes­ter­day. Idai got to the coast of Mozam­bique on Thurs­day, after pass­ing through Malawi and Zim­babwe. The Zim­bab­wean pres­i­dent, Em­mer­son Mnan­gagwa, was in the UAE and did not re­turn until yes­ter­day, win­ning him crit­i­cism from the op­po­si­tion.
