Pioneeering laser surgery for epilepsy

The Hos­pi­tal del Mar has be­come the first in the coun­try to un­der­take laser surgery for the treat­ment of epilepsy and brain tu­mours. The tech­nique is es­pe­cially use­ful for ac­cess­ing re­gions where tra­di­tional neu­ro­surgery can­not safely reach. The tech­nique is not suit­able for every­one, but the hos­pi­tal es­ti­mates they will soon being doing ten or more op­er­a­tions a year.
