Arrimadas joins Rivera “to get rid of Sánchez”
The leader of the Cs party in Catalonia, Inés Arrimadas, chose a meeting in Madrid with the head of the party, Albert Rivera, to confirm the rumours that the leader of the opposition in the Catalan parliament will be Cs’ candidate for Barcelona in the April 28 general election. Arrimadas will be replaced by senator and MP, Lorena Roldán Roldán.
Arrimadas said her decision to make the leap into Spanish politics was because “the moment has come to get rid of [Spanish PM Pedro] Sánchez,” and she pledged to “work hard for Albert Rivera to become the next head of the Spanish government.”
In turn, Rivera gave his support to Arrimadas, celebrating that he will have the “most well-prepared and valiant” woman in Spanish politics at his side in the election campaign. “We want to govern Spain. On April 28 we have to fill the ballot boxes with orange votes to send Sánchez into opposition,” said Rivera.
