Mobile Week is coming to Catalonia
Mobile Week, the prelude to the World Mobile Congress, will spread reflections about technologies’ impact on society beyond Barcelona to Girona, Lleida, Reus, Igualada, and Ribera d’Ebre, in order to mobilize as many people as possible in these areas, according the Spanish news agencies’ report on the presentation made yesterday by the organizers, Mobile World Capital Barcelona.
This year the initiative is going one step further towards decentralization, and will host more than 130 activities in sixty spaces across Barcelona and a range of activities in other cities, the details of which are to be confirmed.
Under the title “Our simple relationship with technology”, this digital week will be held from February 14 to February 23 and artists, scientists, philosophers, engineers, entrepreneurs and professionals, have been invited and are to reflect on the impact of technology on everyday life.
The head of Mobile Week, Esteban Redolfi, yesterday highlighted the fact that the slogan refers to “the relationship we have with technology, which is not exactly simple, but rather complex, toxic, dependent, strange, and worrisome”. Over a hundred speakers are to participate at the conferences and digital artists will be exhibiting some of their work.
