Tsipras calls his own motion of confidence

The Greek parliament had to decide last night whether it was going to renew support for the left-wing prime minister, Alexis Tsipras, in a motion of confidence he called for himself after a split with his party’s coalition partner. Disagreements arose as a result of efforts to end feuding with neighbouring Macedonia by agreeing that Macedonia become North Macedonia. Tsipras was planning to bring the ratification of this agreement with the Skopje authorities to the Greek legislative chamber.
