Prices rose 1.4% in Catalonia during 2018

The con­sumer price index (CPI) closed 2018 with an in­crease of 1.4% in Cat­alo­nia, ac­cord­ing to data pub­lished by the Span­ish In­sti­tute of Sta­tis­tics (INE) yes­ter­day. In Spain, the fig­ure was 1.2% year-on-year, after falling by more than one point in the last two months of the year (from 2.3% in Oc­to­ber). The sec­tor with high­est price rise was real es­tate, with an in­crease of 3.1%; this was fol­lowed by com­mu­ni­ca­tions, 2.1%, and ho­tels, cafes and restau­rants, whose prices rose by 2%.
