Gaudí film award finalists meet up with two weeks until 11th edition

Yes­ter­day saw the fi­nal­ists for the 11th edi­tion of the Gaudí film awards come to­gether for the tra­di­tional photo of the nom­i­nees. The awards from the Cata­lan Film Acad­emy will be given out on Jan­u­ary 27 in Barcelona’s Palau de Con­gres­sos. Among the main favourites to win an award are the films Entre dos aguas, Viaje al cuarto de una madre and El fotógrafo de Mau­thausen, all of which have nine nom­i­na­tions each.

Mean­while, Les distàncies, Jean-François i el sen­tit de la vida, For­mentera Lady and Yo la busco are up for best film. The fi­nal­ists, among them ac­tors, di­rec­tors and scriptwrit­ers, toasted the count­down to the cer­e­mony in Carme Rus­calleda’s Blanc restau­rant. The fi­nal­ists are com­pet­ing in 22 cat­e­gories, and in­clude top film­mak­ers Isaki Lacuesta, Elena Trapé, Mar Tar­garona, Jaume Ros­ales and Celia Rico.

Among the ac­tors hop­ing to come away with an award are Àlex Bren­demühl (Petra), Is­rael Gómez Romero (Entre dos aguas), Sergi López (La vida lli­ure), and Mario Casas (El fotógrafo de Mau­thausen), all up for best male actor.

Among the fi­nal­ists for best fe­male actor award are Alexan­dra Jiménez (Les distàncies), Bárbara Lennie (Petra), Carme Elías (Quién te can­tará), and Lola Dueñas (Viaje al cuarto de mi madre).
