Thousands bid prisoners goodnight
Throughout Christmas day thousands of people went to the prisons of Lledoners, Mas d’Enric and Puig de les Basses where the nine Catalan political prisoners are being held to wish them well.
T e act with the biggest attendance involved accompanying Joan Bonanit in his daily protest (now for more than 170 days) to demand the prisoners’ release at Lledoners prison. The people who went with him on Christmas evening could hear how the prisoners responded to the cries of Joan Bonanit, as Oriol Junqueras does every evening.
Another surprise was to be had at the demonstration. Jordi Turull’s sister put her phone to a microphone there for the family’s weekly phone call so that the protestors could hear the ex-minister’s voice: “Kisses from all seven of us. We love you very much and we are very grateful to you. We will get out of here,“ said Turull.
