Barcelona freezes new building licences in Gràcia

Barcelona city council has issued a decree suspending for a year licences for new buildings, major refurbishment projects, and the demolition of buildings in the Vila de Gràcia district of the city, as well as in certain areas in the neighbourhoods of Salut, Vallcarca i Camp d’en Grassot and Gràcia Nova. The measure is aimed at avoiding an accumulation of applications until the approval of a new register for the district, which has the objective of preserving the district’s urban heritage.
