November rise in unemployment due to seasonality
Unemployment rose by 3,208 in Catalonia in November, leaving the total number of unemployed at 394,405. However, compared to the same month last year, the figure has fallen by 6.6%, a percentage equivalent to 28,057 fewer unemployed. This means that there have been 65 straight months of year-on-year declines since 2013. In addition, the rise in November is the lowest since 2015. The services sector monopolised the increase, due to the final summer season contracts coming to an end.
