On land that was once a quarry we find the aptly named Gravera winery . It is an ambitious project involving the entire family producing wines and oils from certified organic cultivation processes.
The 11 hectares of vineyard are a real treasure and among the oldest in Catalonia, with centuries-old vineyards amid rocky surroundings that were planted in 1890 with local grape varieties.
The brightly coloured modern cellar is in a makeover of an old industrial building, which has kept its typical architectural elements from its manufacturing days that link tradition and modernity, business and environmental sustainability. Gravera is a pioneer in the area in the use of its cold-chain process. From planting to the latest generational monitoring, control practices and respect for the environment, Gravera ensures top quality wines.
The cellar’s organic and biodynamic wines are made from well-ripened grapes and use Grenache, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Monastrell varieties, while the whites are made with Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Grenache, all developed with spontaneous fermentation and minimal human intervention.

La cuina de l’Antoni Rubies (Artesa de Lleida)
Restaurant Antoni Rubies is in the town of Artesa de Lleida, just 10 minutes from the provincial capital. Opened in 2011, it specialises in rice dishes and market cuisine using only the best local ingredients. The menu offers excellent fare, including botifarra negra ravioli or risotto with black trumpet mushrooms and snails. The wine list offers an excellent selection of DO Costers del Segre wines and, if diners are keen on gin and tonic, then there are nearly 30 varieties of gin to choose from.
