A summer full of culture in the open air

The fine Mediterranean weather invites us to do activities outside, and what better then a good show in the open air? Every summer we offer a comprehensive guide to the year’s festivals between July and September: from the capital to the tiniest Pyrenean village there are festivals to suit every taste. Large formal events, such as El Grec, Cap Roig, or Peralada, complement lively pop-rock festivals, such as Canet Rock, Rock Fest or Cruïlla. Meanwhile, classical music in Torroella or s’Agaró, or jazz & blues in the Bouquet festival and Jazz a la fresca contrast with eclectic events offering everything from music to theatre, dance to circus, as well as family activities and even gastronomy.

We also have a feature on the new ballet school soon to open in Terrassa, a look at the universes of the artistic partnership of Jo Milne and Jordi Fulla, as well as a focus on Frederic Amat’s Zoòtrop exhibit at La Pedrera. And don’t miss the interview with Pablo Machín, the coach of Girona FC, which recently sealed promotion to the first division.

We hope you enjoy the read, make the most of summer, and we look forward to seeing you again in September!
