Getting ready for a busy summer

The holidays are almost here and if your perfect summer break does not mean travelling too far and spending time with the family, then we have just what you need. As every year, we offer a selection of outings and excursions for the whole family to enjoy, whether residents or foreign visitors holidaying in Catalonia, one of the most popular Mediterranean destination for millions of tourists. Our suggestions for itineraries will allow you to discover great landscapes, nature, culture and good food, all over the country, in exceptional beauty spots, from Barceloneta beach to the narrow streets of Girona’s old quarter, medieval Garrotxa, Banyoles lake and surroundings, the vineyards of Penedès, Tarragona's coastline and historical sites in Solsonès and Segrià. And don’t miss reading about the new TV series, Chris Lloyd’s latest crime novel set in Girona, and an interview with chef Albert Adrià.

Catalonia is also now a cultural tourist spot in the summer, with music and performing arts festivals with unique line-ups. This month, we begin with the Sónar festival in Barcelona, and next month we’ll be back with a whole list of recommendations for the best summer festivals and cultural events.
