Paul McCarthy brings his explicit art to Barcelona

US artist Paul McCarthy is infamous for his paintings of explicit sex and scatological violence. After scandalising society in the 1960s and '70s, McCarthy gave up art for three decades only to return to his paintbrushes three years ago. Some 30 of the artist's paintings and 30 sketches are now on display at the Fundació Gaspar in Barcelona in an exhibition that runs until July 16.
