Wine route through Montsant

In the morning:

Joan d'Anguera (Darmós/ Tarragona)

The Joan Anguera winery was founded in 1820 by a family of winemakers in Darmós, and took the name in homage to Josep Anguera who had the idea of developing a fresh red wine, which years later would become the hallmark of the cellar. He was pioneer in planting foreign varieties such as syrah or cabernet sauvignon in the higher areas of Montsant. After his death, his sons Joan and Josep took over and now the seventh generation of this hardworking and honest family with viticulture in its blood today continue the work in the vineyard and winemaking in the cellar with the same dedication as the founder.

The 2012 vintage received the Demeter certification of organic and biodynamic winemaking and so began a new phase for the winery, a constant respect for the environment and allowing the land and vines express themselves in all the authentic wines they produce. With the application of biodynamic agriculture, the vineyard confirmed its commitment to local varieties without neglecting the syrah which is now well adapted to the region the wines maintain a light woody balance. The result are pure and aromatic wines.

There are 31 hectares of vines planted with carignan, grenache and syrah varieties, which are harvested manually. There are also olive and almond trees. In the winery, located in a large, beautifully restored masia in Darmós, adapted to current needs, they produce about 120,000 bottles a year, 60% of which are destined for export.

Guided tours for individuals and groups.

For lunch

AQ (Tarragona)

AQ is the child of Ana and Quentin, first companions, then friends, later on a couple, parents, and now partners. It is their way of understanding gastronomy and life. They want the restaurant to just like one where they would like to eat and enjoy themselves, with simple cuisine based on taste, tradition and seasonal products. The restaurant offers two excellent tasting menus:

LARGE: a lengthy menu, seasonal cuisine on the new proposals with other classic dishes.

SMALL: shorter, for those who want to taste a little here and there.

There is a weekly menu from Tuesday to Friday at midday with fresh and simple fare, suitable for all ages and pockets.
