Celebrated English director Declan Donellan to bring his Russian version of Measure for Measure to Temporada Alta festival
Tickets available at box offices from yesterday
The director of Temporada Alta, Salvador Sunyer, has made up for the absence of the Propeller company at this year's festival. The alternative will be Cheek by Jowl director, Declan Donellan, who will bring his Russian company's version of Shakespeare's Measure for Measure. Yesterday, tickets for the play went on sale, which will be performed on October 28 and 29 at Girona's municipal theatre. Temporada Alta takes place from October 2 to December 8.
Other tickets also went on sale yesterday, such as Sócrates: juicio y muerte de un ciudadano. The play, written and directed by Mario Gas, stars Josep Maria Pou. Also now available are tickets for the Albert Pla and Fermín Muguruza concert and the final instalment of the trilogy about Catalan identity by Jordi Casanovas: Vilafranca.
As was already announced, the successful La carta del clown Paolo Nani returns to the festival, along with three Temporada Alta coproductions: Terra baixa - Lluís Homar, which returns a year after its premiere in the Municipal de Girona, 30/40 Livingstone by Sergi López and Jorge Picó, and Concerts per a nadons, the musical show for infants. Also at Temporada Alta Cesc Gelabert will present a choreography inspired in the movements of Barça players, Foot-ball, which premiered at the TNC last year. Finally, Els Pets will give a concert to celebrate their 30th anniversary with a chamber orchestra called Els Pets #trespuntzero De Cambra.
The first five performances were announced a month ago, when tickets went on sale. The best-selling show is the legendary Slava's SnowShow, on at the Municipal. More than half of the tickets have already been sold for the three sessions that will take place between October 16 and 18. This circus show directed by Slava Polunin is a dreamlike voyage undertaken by clowns with audience participation. Also selling well is the comedy Els veïns de dalt, by Cesc Gay, El petit príncep el musical, by Àngel Llàcer and Manu Guix, PaGAGnini by Yllana and Ara Malikian, and the concert celebrating 25 years of Vinicio Capossela's career, with Cabo Sanroque.
