The population of working age will decline
As can be seen in the graph on the left, the population of working age has gradually risen in the past three decades, on the one hand due to the generations born in the 1960s and 1970s coming of age and, on the other, because of the rise in immigration at the beginning of the century. However, since 2008, the number of people of working age has been declining. The modestly optimistic forecast of 30,000 foreign workers arriving in the coming years will allow the size of the working population to even out.
