Viaveu
Proximity is a privilege
ViaVeu is a cultural initiative organised by the Sant Julià de Ramis town council that was launched in 2013 with the aim of attracting visitors to learn the heritage of Sant Julià de Ramis mountain. This format comprises friendly and intimate concerts, with the focus on voices as the main attractions. The concerts are held in places with heritage, specifically in the Romanesque church of Sants Metges, where a ticket is priced at 10 euros (in advance) and 13 euros (ticket office) and the Castellum Fractum, 15 euros (advance purchases) and 18 euros (at the ticket office).
The festival kicks off on July 17 with the quartet, Metropolitan Union, whose dynamic show connects strongly with the audience, presenting versions of songs by the Beatles and Billy Joel, as well as Disney movies and the Simpsons, also with a nod towards historical barbershop singing. The next day, July 18, sees Anna Andreu accompanied on drums by Marina Arrufat presenting her latest album, Els mals costums. Then, on the 24th, Ferran Palau presents his latest album, Parc, on which the theme of love behind this singer-songwriter’s songs is expressed with minimalism and imaginative synthesizers.
The festival is brought to a closes on July 31 with a concert by singer-songwriter Raquel Lúa, an emerging figure in Mediterranean folk music, with clear influences from the traditional Portuguese fado and Spanish flamenco styles.
