Andrés Barba wins 35th Herralde prize
Madrid writer Andrés Barba has won the 35th edition of the Herralde prize, which comes with an award of €18,000, for his novel República luminosa. Barba beat fellow finalist, Argentiine Diego Vecchio, and his La extinción de las especies. Both novels are published on November 29 by Anagrama. República luminosa tells the story of 32 children in the small city of San Cristóbal.
