Andrés Barba wins 35th Herralde prize

Madrid writer Andrés Barba has won the 35th edi­tion of the Her­ralde prize, which comes with an award of €18,000, for his novel República lu­mi­nosa. Barba beat fel­low fi­nal­ist, Ar­gen­ti­ine Diego Vec­chio, and his La ex­tinción de las es­pecies. Both nov­els are pub­lished on No­vem­ber 29 by Ana­grama. República lu­mi­nosa tells the story of 32 chil­dren in the small city of San Cristóbal.
