Mercabarna estate ends 2018 with record sales

The Mercabarna wholesale food-trading estate ended 2018 with a new record in sales and a 4% increase, to 2.27 million tonnes, in the volume of products handled. The estate’s pre-tax profit was 10.4 million euros, a 49% rise on the previous year. However, the sharp rise in profits is also due to the sale of the former Makro facility for 4.7 million euros. In presenting the figures yesterday, Mercabarna said the estate’s 5.5 billion euro turnover, in this regard, makes it the fifth largest company in Catalonia.
