Protesters confront Sánchez in France

Hundreds of pro-Catalan Independence protestors confronted Spanish president Pedro Sánchez in Collioure, in France, where he was visiting the tomb of poet Antonio Machado, one of the hundreds of thousands of republicans exiled in the area, in 1939 during the Spanish Civil War. Those assembled shouted “Machado is the people”, and “self-determination is a right, not a crime”.
