MWC full of talk about 5G, but it won’t be here til late 2020

Once again, Barcelona’s most lucrative trade event of the year has kicked off, bringing the city to a partial standstill. The most talked about topic of this year’s Mobile World Congress, is the super-fast 5G mobile network technology, and new compatible devices. Whilst it taking up a lot of bandwidth at the congress, it won’t hit Catalan shores until the second half of 2020, at the earliest. Whilst last year was overshadowed by politics, this year will be the first year without Uber and Cabify in the capital, transport platforms used in abundance by visitors to MWC.
