La Manada members to remain released on bail

The five members of La Manada who were sentenced to nine years in prison for sexual abuse during Pamplona’s 2016 running of the bulls are to remain on conditional release after appeals presented by the prosecution and the public prosecutor were dismissed in Navarra yesterday. The Manada case involved a controversial ruling in which five men who called themselves La Manada (the wolf-pack) were acquitted of gang-raping a teenager and charged instead with “sexual abuse”.The appeals had been filed against the decision to allow the gang members probationary release until the case can be studied by a higher court.
