Espanyol look to appease woes with good Cup run

In the middle of a string of bad league results that has seen them fall to only three points above the relegation places, Espanyol tonight visit Betis in the King’s Cup quarterfinal second leg at the Benito Villamarín stadium. “I refuse to give up on the Cup, with all the effort we’ve put in,” head coach Rubi said yesterday. The first leg at the RCDE stadium finished 1-1 last week after Betis scored a late equaliser, so Espanyol will need to win or earn a higher scoring draw to make it through to the semis.
