VTC decree approved, peace not guaranteed

The Catalan Government yesterday approved a decree on urgent measures in the field of passenger transport through the rental of vehicles with a driver (VTC), which establishes the operating conditions and control of this service throughout Catalonia and comes after protests by taxi drivers and companies in the sector. The regulation, which will come into force tomorrow, Friday, does not guarantee peace in a sector where confrontations persist after VTC companies announced hundreds of layoffs.
