Pope and NGOs seek “safe port” for 49 migrants
Several NGOs and the Vatican yesterday raised an alarm call to national government, to take in the 49 migrants who are aboard NGO vessels in the Mediterranean at present, some of whom were rescued from the water two weeks ago. On two ships, they have been allowed to enter Maltese waters to escape storm conditions, but denied safe entry to Maltese ports, among others.
