King attempts to portray Spanish flag as “uniting”

On his fifth oc­ca­sion lead­ing the an­nual Pas­cua Mil­i­tar cel­e­bra­tions, which sums up the year’s mil­i­tary events, and pre­pare troops for the year ahead, King Fe­lipe launched into a dra­matic so­lil­o­quy to the ro­jigualda, the Span­ish flag, as the “flag of every­one”, and a sym­bol of “sov­er­eignty, unity and in­tegrity”. He praised its 175 years, leav­ing out its 40 years as a flag of dic­ta­tor­ship.
