Open Arms docks in Spain with 311 refugees from

The Open Arms ar­rived in Spain yes­ter­day, at the Bay of Al­ge­ci­ras (Cadiz), with 311 refugees aboard, from nine­teen coun­tries, res­cued a week ago in the Mediter­ranean. They have been in­terned at the tem­po­rary care cen­tre for for­eign­ers (CATE), in the port in San Roque. Pedro Sánchez’s gov­ern­ment au­tho­rized the dis­em­barka­tion, after Italy and Malta re­fused to open their ports to the refugees, who in­clude 139 mi­nors among their num­ber, the ma­jor­ity of whom were res­cued from Libyan wa­ters.
