Treasury Secretary tries to calm US banks

Trea­sury Sec­re­tary Steven Mnuchin con­tacted the heads of the six largest banks in Amer­ica on Sun­day in an un­usual move to try to calm in­vestors at this tu­mul­tuous time - as the stock mar­ket takes a dive in the midst of chaos at the White House. On Fri­day the US stock mar­ket recorded its worst week since the start of the ter­ri­ble eco­nomic cri­sis in 2008.
