Gay marriage not in the constitution afterall

The committee drafting the new Cuban constitution eliminated the article that opened the door to same-sex marriage due to alleged opposition. “The comittee proposes defering the concept of marriage, that is to say, leaving it outside of the constitution, to show respect for all opinions,” said the Cuban Parliament. The initial proposal planned to modify the concept of marriage that appears in the current constitution.
